Varied and unforgettable, your adventure starts in Los Angeles, taking you through the Mojave Desert to the bright lights of Las Vegas. Along the way, see the dramatic landscapes of Death Valley, the beauty of Mammoth Lakes, and the wonders of Yosemite. Finish with a coastal escape, from San Francisco to the dreamy shores of Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Day 1 -
Land in Los Angeles and proceed to the arrival hall, following the red signs for Hotel Courtesy Shuttle buses*. Transfer** to your hotel and check in, ready to embark on an extraordinary trip through the western USA.
The evening is yours to enjoy at your own pace—whether you prefer a stroll along Hollywood Boulevard or the boardwalk at Santa Monica Pier. Overnight stay in Los Angeles.
*LAX is currently under construction, so hotel shuttles now pick up from the departure level. Look for the small red sign marked “Hotel Shuttle Bus” (shuttles run approximately every 15 minutes). This applies to both international and domestic arrivals.
**Transfer is not included and must be arranged independently.
Please note: Early check-in is not available. If you arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., please check in with your Tour Director at the Hospitality Desk. For arrivals after 8:00 p.m., ask the front desk for any messages and refer to the lobby poster for the next day’s itinerary.
If either your outbound or inbound flights depart in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.
Day 2 - Los Angeles - Mojave Desert - Las Vegas
Optional breakfast* at the hotel. Meet your Tour Leader**, board the motorcoach, and begin your journey to glittering Las Vegas. Travel through the arid, unique landscapes of the Mojave Desert before arriving in the world’s entertainment capital for non-stop fun, high-stakes excitement, and maybe even catching an extravagant show. Overnight stay in Las Vegas.
Distance covered today: 270 miles by coach, with stops every 2–3 hours.
*In the next step of the booking process you can add 7 optional breakfasts starting from the day of arrival. No breakfasts are included.
**Be ready in the lobby by 7:30 a.m. to allow time for an 8:00 a.m. departure.
Day 3 - Las Vegas - Death Valley - Mammoth Lakes
Leave the glitz and glam of Vegas behind and change gears in Death Valley. Drive through the driest place in North America, stopping at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch—both excellent photo ops.*
Then continue to Mammoth Lakes, a picturesque alpine resort town in the Sierra Nevada. Once a gold mining hub in the 19th century, today it’s a one-stop shop for skiing and jaw-dropping views. Explore this year-round destination for adventure—from biking and hiking to delving into local history inside a 1920s log cabin turned museum. Overnight stay in Mammoth Lakes.
Distance covered today: 308 miles by coach, with stops every 2–3 hours.
*If Tioga Pass is closed, routing will be done via Fresno.
Day 4 - Mammoth Lakes - Yosemite - Modesto
The otherworldly views continue today as you journey across Tioga Pass into Yosemite National Park, a bona fide natural wonder.
Over millions of years, glacial movements have shaped the landscape—from the valley floor to the towering granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome, to the majestic Yosemite Falls and Bridalveil Fall. A must-see for any nature lover, it’s a day of exploration and unforgettable sights, winding down in nearby Modesto.
The rest of the day is yours to get familiar with the relaxed and cultural city. Overnight stay in Modesto.

Day 5 - Modesto - San Francisco
It’s an early departure today as you head to San Francisco, home to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and famously sloped streets. Once you arrive, enjoy a comprehensive city sightseeing tour. Soak up the vibrant energy and rich history of one of America’s most beloved cities, with time for lunch before checking in to your hotel.
Spend the rest of the day exploring what inspired Otis Redding to sing, “I left my home in Georgia / Headed for the Frisco Bay.” Visit Alcatraz, dive into the city’s food scene, take a memorable City by Night Tour, and more. Overnight stay in San Francisco.

Day 6 - San Francisco
Ready for a full day in San Francisco? Great! You have an entire day of leisure to explore at your own pace. If you have specific interests, like visiting the Garden of Shakespeare’s Flowers or catching a local theater performance, now’s your chance. And if you're unsure where to start, your Tour Leader is always available to help plan your day. Overnight stay in San Francisco.
Day 7 - San Francisco - Monterey/Carmel - Santa Maria (Central Coast)
This morning, the panoramic journey continues with a scenic drive to the Monterey Peninsula, a picture-perfect destination with magnificent beachfront homes, luxury neighborhoods like Pebble Beach, and a dreamy backdrop for iconic on-screen moments. In Monterey, you’ll visit Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row, two famous historic areas that define the city’s maritime heritage.
Next, head south to Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming town known for its cozy cottages, art galleries, and unique quirk—homes here don’t have street addresses!
Afterward, travel to Paso Robles, a wine lover’s haven often compared to Napa Valley. Spend the afternoon exploring the region’s world-renowned vineyards. Finally, finish the day in Santa Maria, a quaint city nestled between coastal hills and the Santa Maria Valley. Overnight stay in Santa Maria.

Day 8 - Santa Maria (Central Coast) - Santa Barbara - Santa Monica - Los Angeles
To cap off your journey with a true Los Angeles touch, today you'll head south through the scenic Santa Ynez Valley and into the palm-lined, white-sand beaches of Santa Barbara, before finally arriving in L.A.
Dive into the full City of Stars experience with an orientation tour that takes you through Hollywood, parts of Beverly Hills, and Century City, before reaching Santa Monica. This oceanside city, with its iconic pier and laid-back beach vibes, draws both locals and tourists alike. Check-in at the hotel and then feel free to explore or relax for the rest of the evening. Overnight stay in L.A.
Distance covered today: 140 miles by coach, with stops every 2–3 hours.
Day 9 - Los Angeles
It's time to conclude this incredible adventure! Self-transfer to the airport for your flight home. Arrive at your departure city with unforgettable memories.
